Windows Phone 7 series..finally MS understand reality
Its amazing man..like other competitors google and Apple.
Yes, its nothing new than google and apple.
Here are some interesting factors as per my understanding
- Thank god its not Win Mo 6.5 enhancement.. Guys...its all brand new OS. Written from scratch.. so no more start button...it has all new vertical scrolling touch buttons which has tiles(live changing images from data network).
- like iPhone, WinPhone is a Zune and phone..by default Zune is default
- Sad news is...guys u can not upgrade your old win mob from 6.5 to 7. Like their competitors..MS is going to pick and choose hardware makers and network providers..it needs to have very specific hardware to run.
- Instead of calling apps...they call hubs
- interestingly no talk abt SDK
- steve balmer feels proud of it..
- XBox can be played live from it
- all in all...its an integration all in one powerful handheld like N1 and iPhone
- Bad things is...they are coming at the end of the year...
So its no more enterprise phone..its another social phone...
But great that MS realized what market is asking for though its late...

Kindle bigscreen aiming to replace paperbased books and newspapers
an event in New York City this morning, Amazon's CEO, Jeff Bezos, unveiled a larger version of the company's successful Kindle eBook reader. The new device, the Kindle DX, has a 9.7" display that is about two and a half times larger than that of the Kindle 2. The Kindle DX will come with a built-in PDF reader, and features an auto-rotate mode, so that readers can easily switch between reading in portrait and landscape modes. The Kindle DX will cost $489 and is scheduled to ship this summer.
The resolution of the new Kindle's screen is 1200 x 824 at 150ppi, while the Kindle 2 features a 600 x 800 screen. The Kindle DX also feature 4GB of memory.
Textbooks
As we predicted earlier this week, Amazon is aiming this device at the educational market and has reached deals with three major textbook publishers: Pearson, Wiley, and Cengage Learning.
Newspapers
Amazon also announced that the New York Times, Boston Globe, and Washington Post have signed deals with Amazon and that these papers will begin trials with reduced prices for Kindle DX users who agree to long-term subscription commitments later this summer. It looks like these discounts will only be available to users who live in areas where printed versions of these papers are not readily available.
During today's event, the New York Times' chairman, Arthur Sulzberger Jr., argued that the new Kindle finally offers "the same satisfying experience as the reading of a printed newspaper." It remains to be seen, though, if newspaper readers are indeed clamoring for a device that simply copies the experience of reading a traditional, dead-tree newspaper. It is also important to note that Sulzberger called the new deal with Amazon an "experiment," and the success of this experiment will surely also depend on how much of a discount on the Kindle the papers are willing to give to their readers.
iPhone 3G ..finally...
SmartPhone(any) Vs Blackberry
There are quite good number of factors you need to consider before opting for Blackberry or Dopod(any smart phone)
Dopod(any smartphone):
As this runs on WinMobile OS, you can do lot more than messaging, but depends on your requirement and hobby.
You need to have GPRS(or EDGE) connection for this mobile.
So now if you need to configure your inbox, then you need to configure our pop3 and smtps.provided your office offers it.
So to access email is two step, 1. Connect to net 2. Open inbox to check mails(with first time configuration of smtp n pop3)
Blackberry:
This is more a messaging device than a palm device.
It runs on its own OS and so limitation of applications that you can run.
Accessing email is just a push away. We need to take the Blackberry pre connection with a subscriber(in our case AirTel)
And they will do all the configuration and maintaining mailserver sync etc and for you to access email, just push a button.
So validate the requirement and opt for the better device.
